Intensification of processes

Process intensification

In helping to significantly improve material and heat transfer, process intensification significantly reduces the volume-to-production ratio and also brings down investment costs and energy consumption. The LaTEP has chosen to tackle the issue of process intensification from this particular angle, i.e. by focusing on process integration and energy optimization.

The different studies are based on extensive experience in the field of multifunctional reactors, on recognized experimental know-how (pilots of high-pressure reactors, absorption columns, catalytic distillation under pressure, etc.) and on the skills developed at the LaTEP, particularly in terms of thermodynamic modeling of complex systems, multiphase transport modeling, and process modeling, simulation and numerical optimization.

The fields of application are:

Intensification of reactive extraction

Reactive and extractive distillation processes

Utilization of geothermal water
